The Finals of Table Tennis Tournament of year 2004 concluded on 23-May-2004.
Anup Netrawali and Malathi Kamath won the Men's and Women's championship
respectively. All the matches were well fought and spectators had a good time

12-May-2004: The second round Table Tennis Tournament of year 2004 concluded on 09-May-2004. There were plenty of matches and some very good games to watch. We had last minute entries with Dr. C.K.Kamath joining Group-A and Radha Netrawali joining the Women's group. Thanks to Anup & Radha Netrawali and other volunteers, everyone had plenty of fun and good dinner after the matches. Raj Pai and Harish Pai from Men Group-A, Anup Netrawali and Venu Baliga from Men Group-B, Malathi Kamath and Vani Baliga from Women Group-A qualified for the Semi-Final round which will be played on 23-May-2004 between 1:00pm and 4:00 pm at Venu and Vani Baliga's residence. 05-May-2003: The first game of cricket for this season was played on 03-May-2003 between 10:30 am and 2:00 pm in Camelton School Grounds in Sterling Heights. There was plenty of fun, sun and of course cricket. 11 team members showed up from near and far. Players from Ann Arbor, Canton, Westland, Rochester Hills, Farmington Hills braved the distance and the free-way construction detours to sweat it out. Drinks were sponsored by Venu Baliga and Anup Netrawali. The Cricket kit was sponsored by Venu Baliga and Raj Pai contributed with T-Ball.
The 11 players that played were Anil Bhat, Anila Shanbhag, Anup Netrawali, Ashwin Betrabet, Geeta Betrabet, Hemant Betrabet, Manjunath Prabhu, Naren Kamath, Niranjan Shenoy, Shashidar Kamath, Venu Baliga. Players who had other commitments but expressed to join the next week were Harish Pai, Mohan Kamath, Rajendra Pai, Priyan Manjeshwar. Kudos to Geeta Betrabet who did so well, and we look forward to Deepti Manjeshwar, Vani Baliga, and Srimala Pai who have expressed their interest in joining the game.

08-Apr-2003: The Sports Committee received good response for the Sports sign-ups at the Ugadi celebrations. Sign up was for gathering response for participation in sports activities and future tournaments. Members signed up for Cricket, Volley Ball, Table Tennis. Anup Netrawali, Raj Pai, Niranjan Shenoy shall get back with the enrollees very soon, and the activities shall start as soon as we are blessed with good weather. Members who want to enroll are welcome to contact Anup Netrawali, Raj Pai or Niranjan Shenoy.
31-Mar-2003: The Michkon Cricket Club shall commence its activities for this season in April (as soon as conducive weather kicks in). Members desirous of participating may please contact Raj Pai or Niranjan Shenoy and enroll. Following players have already enrolled: Raj Pai, Niranjan Shenoy, Anil Bhat, Venu Baliga, Harish Pai, Nikhil Hoskeri, Naren Kamath, Anup Netrawali, Ram Bhat, Mohan Kamath, Anila Shanbhag, Vinod Pai, Manjunath.
The games/ matches will be scheduled on weekends. Raj and Niranjan shall organize and co-ordinate the schedules and keep the players informed.
24-Mar-2003:
Table Tennis: Table Tennis tournament was completed successfully on 22-Mar-2003. The response was overwhelming from the participants and spectators alike. Anup did a great job of co-ordinating and handling the tournament. We had a few no-shows, and also new entries. Vaibhav Mallya joined the game and did show great promise, and shows signs of following in the footsteps of his dad Venkat Mallya. The results are:

The Board would like to thank Anup Netrawali for organizing the event. Radha & Anup Netrawali, Vani & Venu Baliga for conducting the events at their residence, sponsoring the equipments and accessories for the games, and providing lunch, snacks and drinks during the events. Cricket: The first cricket game of the season was played today at the Rochester Hill Elementary school grounds. 10 players showed up for practice session of 2 hrs.

RULES:
| 1. | Within each group all the players will be playing the others. |
| 2. | Each contestant will have to play 3 matches with the opponent for deciding the winner. |
| 3. | Each win will contribute 2 points towards the winner. |
| 4. | If the player cannot make it during the predecided time-slot, he or she will lose the points to his opponent (if the opponent too is absent from the play, both players will be alloted 0 points.) |
| 5. | Two players ( top 2) will be selected in each group. |
| 6. | Out of the final four contestants selected from the 2 groups, each player from one group will play with both the other players in the other group. The top 2 players will be the winner and the unner-up respectively. |
The time slot for the 1st set of games will be from 3 to 5 pm on Mar-16-2003 at Venu/Vani Baliga's residence in Rochester Hills. Please reply regarding the availability so that the matches can be accordingly scheduled. The directions will be emailed to participating contestants.

04-Mar-2003: The Table Tennis Tournament has received tremendous response. More than 10 participants have already registered and many more have made enquiries about the schedules and venue to consider participation. Anup Netrawali is the Event In-Charge and will be responsible for all aspects of this tournament, so please email your entries to Anup.
Last date for registration is 10-Mar-2003. Event Schedules and venue shall be decided and posted on 11-Mar-2003 under the Sports page of the Events tab on this website.
